This luxury Chamonix apartment is on the second floor of Residence Paccard
which was formerly the Hotel de Paris. It is located right in the very centre of
Chamonix on historic Rue Dr Paccard, Chamonix’s pedestrianised main shopping
street, close to Place Balmat (the main square), and offers unrivalled access to
the town’s superb shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife, museums and other
attractions, all right on its doorstep – only the nearby post office has a more
central address! Totally structurally refurbished and redecorated to a high standard in
December 2004, the apartment is fresh and modern. It is an ideal base for all
that Chamonix has to offer, with the whole of the valley easily accessible by
the in-resort Ski-Bus which stops only a minute from the apartment, yet its
location and come-and-go ease of access make it additionally suited to families
and to groups of mixed abilities or having different interests. The lounge is light
and spacious, with tall windows and French-doors offering access to an over-street
balcony and giving the room classic views of the Brevent and the Aiguilles Rouges
mountain range. Furnishings are top quality and in the traditional Savoyard style,
with two comfortable sofas (one a sofa bed), coffee table, drawer unit, entertainment
unit with TV, DVD, Video and HiFi, 2 comfortable armchairs plus a large fluffy rug to relax
on. The long traditional dining table seats 6-8 comfortably and is ideal for
entertaining - or simply to enjoy breakfast with fresh bread and warm croissants
from the boulangerie across the street below. The separate kitchen is neat and fully equipped
with all modern conveniences including four-ring halogen hob, extractor fan, fridge, microwave/ conventional
oven, dishwasher, Bosch washer-dryer, kettle, toaster, the full MyFrenchChalet
inventory of kitchenware, plus a butchers-block trolley: everything needed for
full dining - if you can manage to drag yourself away from Chamonix’s many fine
restaurants on your doorstep, that is! The Master Bedroom has twin beds that can be zipped up to
form a double, with wardrobe and bedside locker in matching traditional pine, and views of Rue
Dr Paccard and the Brevent. En-suite is a shower room with washbasin and vanity unit and full-body
balneo massage power-shower – perfect for relaxing after any day’s activities,
or for an invigorating start in the mornings. Bedroom 2 is has full-size bunks plus an single bed -
ideal for children or a couple, matching chest of drawers and clothes hooks, mirror, and it has
French-doors leading to its own balcony with street and Brevent views. There is a second
shower-room, again with full body massage shower, washbasin and vanity unit and storage,
and the WC is in its own separate room. Hot water is permanently on tap, and the apartment
is fully centrally heated. There is a ski-locker in the apartment with ample room for skis,
boards and boots, etc. and a bike rack in the cellar for storage of bicycles. Access to the
building is by secure electronic key or by intercom from the apartment. Private
secure internal parking is also provided in nearby Villa Floria (Map E18). The
apartment is wheelchair and pushchair accessible. This is a non-smoking
apartment – but the balconies will suit smokers, and there is a tobacconist’s
shop downstairs. The apartment also comes with a free wireless ADSL internet connection.
